  3. Out of all of the Dead's studio output, this one and 's 'Built to Last' seem to be the two albums that divide Deadheads. Some Deadheads will praise 's 'Shakedown Street' for being different and risky in the Dead's catalogue (I think the Dead took chances here and created music on this one that they would never attempt to do again); others will say that it is a mess and a horrendously /5().
  4. In George's hands, this is all given a smooth gloss not all that far removed from such latter-day Feat LPs as The Last Record Album, but since the Dead favor hazy, lazy grooves to Feat's laid-back but tight New Orleans funk -- and since George didn't produce so much as he created an appropriate atmosphere in the studio -- Shakedown Street 4/
  5. This is the version the Dead sang most of their career, though not all verses were sung each time. It was recorded as "All New Minglewood Blues" on "Shakedown Street". The version on the Dead's first LP (called "New New Minglewood Blues") was rather different: I was born in a desert, raised in a lion's den.

  7. Otherwise, half of the band's yet-to-be released studio album Shakedown Street () is represented by way of "New, New Minglewood Blues," "Stagger Lee," "I Need A Miracle," "Fire on the Mountain," and the title track "Shakedown Street." As was typical, the Grateful Dead chose to road test and woodshed much of their "new" material prior to committing it to tape in the comparatively sterile studio confines. .
  8. Shakedown Street is the tenth studio album by rock band the Grateful Dead, released November 15, on Arista Records. The album came just over a year after previous studio album Terrapin panathernufemrie.adgeupormanirehoutohoderedi.co was the final album for Keith and Donna Jean Godchaux, who left the band a few months after its panathernufemrie.adgeupormanirehoutohoderedi.co record was produced by Lowell George (of Little Feat) and John Kahn.
