  1. Widely regarded as one of Bo Diddley's best albums of the late s and early s, there is not a bad song to be found on the album Bo Diddley Is a Lover. From the largely autobiographical 'Bo Diddley Is Loose', the single release 'Not Guilty' and 'Hong Kong Mississippi' (the best track on the album, bar none) to 'Quick Draw', there is plenty to savor and enjoy/5(6).

  3. This CD is from the original masters (as best I can tell) and sound great. There's even a couple of bonus tracks. My favorites on the album are "Hong Kong, Mississippi" and "Aztec", which was written and performed (uncredited) by Peggy Jones, who was known as "Lady Bo". I you love Bo Diddley, be sure to pick up this lesser known gem/5(6).

  4. There's not a bad song on this long-forgotten album; in fact, it's all good, and so little of it has been reissued that it's a crime. There are a lot of familiar moments here: Diddley slips most effectively into his "Say Man" groove on "Bo's Vacation"; plays some serious Chicago blues on "Call Me (Bo's Blues)" and makes it count; invades Chuck Berry territory by way of Howlin' 8/
