"The Snow Goose" is based on the novella "The Snow Goose" written by Paul Gallico in Later issues include "Music Inspired By" on the cover due to Paul Gallico's publishers had threatened to put a court injunction on the album. The reason to revisit this classic album seems to have been to arrange it solely for the band, without the original orchestral influences, and this has given this new Snow Goose a real edge - it's still totally recognisable, but sharper, more rock orientated, and it's easy to imagine it being performed live/5(89).

  4. Certain sections of the album are upbeat, including Dunkirk, which is incredibly chaotic and aggressive. However, The Snow Goose is largely mellow, and offers a calming atmosphere that provides the listener time to reflect and ponder. Personally, Rhayader is one of my favorite tracks, along with Dunkirk, Sanctuary, and La Princess Perdue/5().
